Default Cosmetic Enhancements for next chapter

-Armor upgrades that you can get off monsters after ID-ing RED armor. You can make yourself look like a monk or something

PROPOSAL 1
ID a red armor, you get random armor that has droknar's graphic (upgrade). In your inventory it comes as "Monk Judge's Set Disguise" or "Elementalist Pyromancer's Set Disguise" or "Platemail Set (Warrior)"

You find a Stone Summit Armor (Monk) that is Red. You use your ID kit. It yields one of 6 possible professions' armor upgrade for chest/leg/glove/boots, in this case it is monk's Judge's. You put it on your armor. It now changes to one of the graphics for the profession of the red item (monk). You get your armor graphic changed permanently.
Summary: Cross Class Armor graphic without changing AL

PROPOSAL 2 (more work on the part of the Developers)
ID a red armor, you get the profession's armor upgrade. You can now look like one of the races you fight in Guild Wars.

You find a Stone Summit Armor (Warrior) that is Red. You ID it. It yields "Stone Summit Armor Upgrade". You use it on your armor. Your armor piece now looks like the stone summit one.
Summary: Your Armor doesn't change except fro how it looks.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Idea came from Galen Trask's dressing you up as a slave for the Summit dwarves. I thought it would be neat if you could actually see your character in different armor.

This also means that in PvP you can't spot the monk right away. Kind of like how the Stone Summit Monks look like the warriors.

EDIT: We need cosmetic Enchancements, not armor that costs 2 mil or weapons that are green colored but have the same picture.
More eyecandy

I say cosmetic enhancement would be much cooler if you could fit your armor with crafting items.

Say you found a Monsterous Claw. You double-click it, aply it to your Knight's Helm and BAM! Knight's Helm with cool claw-like thingies sticking out of it like horns!

I think that would be great...

But on-topic, I don't like the idea at all. Why would a Warrior wear ugly Elementalist armor? Elementalist armor isn't ugly, ok, but on a Warrior? Gross I say.

Yer, the idea of crossing armor is bad but the idea of being able to modify armors to you needs is nice, especially being able to add on alot of what you want i would add on minotaur horns all over my armor or even the ability to find a new piece of armor, im getting pretty damn sick and tired of the extremely limited amount of armors. Whatever we say is only a wish and will never happen because there to lazy to do anything.

Interesting armor idea there.

But I don't think I could ever mistake an elementalist with their crazy hair-do's for a monk just because of the armor;-)

i think any class with warrior armor would look pretty cool, or even necro armor

sorry but i have to disagree with this. elementalists wearing platemail just doesnt do justice to their weak frame. And a ranger wearing platemail makes no sense. Mainly because it would mean he couldnt fire arrows. Next time you have a spare 1,000$(USD) lying around buy a cheap set of platemail yourself and learn how much it restricts your movement.

Here's a quick rundown on why the professions wear what they wear.

Warrior wears heavy armor because he is meant to take a lot of hits. If he wore ranger armor, he'd die very quickly. Should he don necrotic armor, he would be protected from arrows, but not swords. Same with the monk robes. Only if he had the intent of suicide would he wear an elementalist's armor, and the same goes for mesmer as it is made of an even weaker material.

Rangers wear strong, yet light armor. They need to be able to flex their arms in many positions that chainmail, platemail, and coarse materials prevent them from establishing. Plus, if they were to wear something as loose as necrotic garments or the monk robes, they would find their rate of fire hindered from having to move through their lengthy materials.

Monks wear what they wear because the epitome of the monk in this game would be coming from the himalayan/chinese region, and most likely being a monk of Buddha. That said, they do not believe in slaughtering massive amounts of people(hence the fact that they have healing spells) and so, fighting is naturally shunned. So, they wouldn't wear something from england like an 80 pound suit of plates, or chains. The same pretty much goes for the rest of the professions. The tats of a necro, however, are the most extreme impossibility. Because necromancers deal between the planes of life and death, their tats allow them to stay pinned to the mortal plane. The monk tats however, help them traverse through the plane of heaven to bring divine power to the earth(in the form of healing usually) both can be accomplished without the tats, but bluntly put the two professions are diverse, as are their tats and armors.

Mesmers are easily stereotyped into the gypsie group perhaps, wearing light clothes made of silk and such. So, of course their frail frames aren't made for platemail. And it would prevent them from casting fast if they were to wear bulky items such as monk robes and necromancer garments. If they were to wear elementalist armor, they would probably enjoy it except for the fact that those armors are used to attune elementalists to the elements(wonder how that works O_o) so their best armors are in the light materials, like silk.

Necromancers, as said before, require armor to stay on the mortal plane or they shall be forever doomed to leave the mortal plane(many call it dieing) should they try to contact the plane of the "dead." You might think that 80 lb armor would keep them on the mortal plane more so than their flimsy robes, but what keeps them on the mortal plane is more than just weight.

Elementalists, couldn't wear the heavier armors due to lack of movement, and the other armors do not allow them to become attuned to the prime elements of the earth easily. Without their imbued garments it would be near impossible to force lightning to strike or for tidal waves to occur.

For those too dense to apply logic, these are of course, not taken directly from the game. There would be no problem in putting a monk skin onto a necromancer(or not a very large problem at least) but these inferences go back to what the professions are based on in what's called "real life"

I hear what your saying. But I would not emphasize "real life" with anything involving mesmers, necromancers and elementalists.

Tab would help with the disguises in pvp, as it cycles targets and show their classes and level. However, I have to disagree with this idea, just make more armor..I don't want to see everyone in platemail in one city regardless of their class...

I said the Armor Level wouldn't change, only the look. It will just be a skin for the armor.

e.g. a warrior armor with 100AL with a monk skin.

My second idea is different, as your armor will look like a race's armor you killed. Imagine your monk wearing the white mantle abbot robes

I like the idea, but I personally prefer just being able to use the collector item things (minotaur horns etc.) on our armor, it would look alot better, and be unique!

I don't think we should be able to disguise ourselves as other characters, but the idea to adding upgrades to the armor is really good. It would make guild wars more personal. I hope ANet adds a ton of new armors...
